Remove paper dust from the guide with a soft brush. Dry the carbon steel blade after use; avoid abrasive cleaners on the aluminum finish.

Use a cutting mat and cut away from your body. Keep fingers clear of the cutting path. Extend only the blade needed for the task. Retract, fold or cap the blade before storage. Keep away from children. Replace damaged blades and place used blades in a suitable puncture-resistant container. Never use a blade as a pry bar.

Use only a replacement matching the listed blade format and the tool’s fitting. Retract or cover the edge and follow the tool’s mechanism when replacing. For snap-off blades, use a suitable blade snapper and eye protection.
